Hello there,

I hope this missive finds you safe and well. This is just a quick note to thank everyone who's already filled in the BackerKit pledge manager; and if you haven't already please try to do this before the end of June so we can start setting up the hub and printer info. If you are unable to complete the pledge manager by the end of June for any reason please email me directly and I'll endeavour to accommodate you: [email protected]

The HEBS reviews are still rolling in as new and veteran players continue to explore our epic historic battles: 'Beautiful game, great quality components, great historical dynamics' – #1565StElmosPay review from @WojennikTV...

And here's another art teaser to tide you over until the next update...

Ciao for now!

1815, Scum of the Earth – May 2021: BackerKit Pledge Manager is live now!
almost 5 years ago – Sat, May 08, 2021 at 05:38:51 AM

Hello there, I hope you're gearing up for a lovely weekend because...

The BackerKit Pledge Manager is live now!

The pledge manager is live, yay! Your surveys are being sent to you today, so please double check your junk mail, and if you still haven't received your invite by tomorrow (or if you can't wait) you can simply click the direct link to the BackerKit pledge manager here:

https://1815-scum.backerkit.com/

And if you're still having issues you can just email us ([email protected]) and we'll resend the invite to you.

This is your chance to upgrade your pledge level, or pick up any expansions, promos, or playmats that you might have missed during the campaign. Don't forget that the 1815, Give Me Night Prussian expansion pack is not included automatically with any pledge level. So if you didn't add it as an add-on during the Kickstarter campaign, you can order 1815, Give Me Night at its totally redonculous Kickstarter discount right now in the pledge manager. :D

Please complete your survey as soon as your are able to!

I understand that we are a long way away from fulfilment at this stage, but there is a lot of admin for us to sort out behind the scenes and knowing how many copies of each item that we need to order in advance is crucial. The last thing we want is for any of you to be frustrated because you missed out on a playmat or expansion by the time the games are being delivered.

Furthermore, due to our agreements with retailers and distributors we cannot offer the Kickstarter discounts indefinitely, so our prices will revert to RRP after the pledge manager has been open for two months. Hopefully two months is plenty of time for you to fill in your shipping info, but if you have any issues at all, as always please just email us and we'll be happy to accomodate you.

1565, St. Elmo's Pay is now on Tabletopia!

So you can play it straight away here:

https://tabletopia.com/games/1565-st-elmo-s-pay

1066, Tears to Many Mothers is also on Tabletopia!

In case you missed it, the original HEBS game is also available to play immediately here too:

https://tabletopia.com/games/1066-tears-to-many-mothers

And yes, we would love to upload 1815, Scum of the Earth in the future too.

From Napoleon to the EU!

The emperor is still making headlines – there's an interesting argument about Napoléon's legacy here:

A discussion of Napoléon Bonaparte’s Anglophobia here:

‘Perfidious Albion’: Napoléon and his British nemesis

And more about his legacy here:

Napoléon’s rich global legacy, from the Civil Code to creative arts:

Apropos of nothing I watched Zulu again with the little lad this week (his first viewing). Rorke's Drift would make a great HEBS game, right??

And that's all for now, as with all of our Kickstarter campaigns we will continue to keep you updated about developments with monthly progress updates until the games are in your hands. In the meantime, continue being excellent to each other, and thank you so much for your support!

PS. Our latest game Veilwraith has just landed at our worldwide hubs and is about to start shipping. If you missed out on the Veilwraith Kickstarter and you're interested in the next award-winning Hall or Nothing title we still have a few copies available to order which we can ship out in the next few weeks:

FINAL DAY - FUNDING SMASHED!
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Apr 18, 2021 at 12:46:04 AM

Yuuuuusssss!!

Thank you everybody so much for smashing that finish – somewhere around 600% funded in fact! You also more than doubled the funding of 1565, St. Elmo's Pay and it's been a huge vote of confidence for the game system and for the history and we are delighted.

We're also delighted that you have chosen to support our game/s (many of you multiple times over) – this allows us to continue doing what we do and we'll never forget or stop being grateful for that. :)

You busted the playmat milestone so all of the 1815, Scum of the Earth playmats are going to have full double-sided artwork. And don't worry if you missed anything during the Kickstarter, if you want to add playmats, or 1815, Give Me Night or anything else to your order you can do all of that in the pledge manager. We're here if you have any questions or issues.

In a couple of weeks we'll be able to launch the BackerKit pledge manager - so when you receive an email from or about BackerKit be sure not to let it hit your junk mail.

For those of you who are new to Hall or Nothing we will also keep you appraised of our development progress via regular monthly updates following the campaign, and we are always available in the comments section or by email ([email protected] and [email protected]) if you have any questions or comments.

For rules questions, advice from the experts, photos, session reports, sneak previews of our other games and more, make sure you follow us on social, and join our official chat groups here:

Take care everyone, have a brilliant weekend, and happy gaming!

This is it friends: the campaign for 1815, Scum of the Earth is in its final hours and we have just one stretch goal to hit: Scum of Kilforth promos!

It's a way off yet, but if together we can hit £90,261 we'll have some special guests from Kilforth join us in the game too:

1815, Scum of the Earth - FINAL HOURS! Prussians + Scum Of Kilforth??
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Apr 16, 2021 at 03:45:34 PM

How do, friend?!

£83,809 pledged 523% funded 1,384 backers 31 hours to go!!

Here we are with just hours remaining before the campaign wraps up, and the pace has ramped up considerably already - thanks again for your support, whether you've been with us from second 1 or if you've just joined us, you are most welcome indeed.

Prussians!

I don't want to give too much away about how the Prussians play – I already blabbed quite a bit about game mechanisms in the last update video – but if you remember how the Ottomans were seemingly numberless in 1565, St. Elmo's Pay: The Great Siege of Malta Card Game (to help represent these unending tides of soldiers, some of the Ottoman cards could even be played from the discard pile), I wanted to capture a sense of that from the French perspective of how the Prussians at Waterloo just kept pouring into the battlefield as the evening wore on. Mechanically it's different again from the Ottomans, but for example some Prussian cards have the Comrades ability whereby they can summon similar units from your deck to your hand to bulk up your resources and choices of units.

Below is a cheeky sneak peak at a couple of the cards from the 1815, Give Me Night Prussian expansion. Don't forget that you can add the 1815, Give Me Night Prussian expansion to your pledge by simply increasing your pledge total by £16 (or you can simply add it in the pledge manager if that's easier):

Scum of Kilforth!

Okay, let's ramp up the action in the last 30 hours and see if we can hit £90,261, peeps (kudos if you can guess the significance of this total). If we hit this milestone we'll have some special guests from Kilforth join us in the game too... ;)

With 'Brown Bess' for example, you can either shuffle this Kilforth promo into Call of Kilforth, or you can use the Reward tokens from Shadows of Kilforth to identify its discoverable location, or in Gloom of Kilforth you can add it as a bonus card to the market.

Game Ratings!

One thing that really helps bring attention to our games is when you rate them on boardgamegeek. So if you haven't already, and if you have either of the previous HEBS games (or any of our games!) it would really do us a great service if you could choose an appropriate number out of ten and click to rate:

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/155122/1066-tears-many-mothers-battle-hastings-card-game

Not long till nightfall friend, so sally forth!!
